Paying for Road Tolls Across Europe Just Got Easier
In response to Denmark introducing road tolls for heavy vehicles starting 2025, AutoSync now offers a solution for easy payment of road tolls across Europe.
AutoSync has secured an exclusive partnership with MP Mobility AS, a Norwegian company based in Narvik, to provide an efficient payment solution for road toll and toll crossings in Denmark and the rest of Europe. This collaboration responds to the increasing demand from AutoSync's customers for a comprehensive solution for road toll payments, especially with the upcoming changes in Denmark.
From January 1st, 2025, Denmark will implement a new kilometer-based and CO₂-differentiated road toll for trucks over 12 tons. This road toll, which is calculated based on distance traveled and vehicle emissions, will apply to most of Denmark's road network. Several European countries have already introduced similar schemes, sometimes covering all vehicles over 3.5 tons. While Norwegian authorities have delayed implementing road tolls, Norwegian transport operators need solutions that work internationally.
"Our customers have been asking for a reliable and user-friendly solution for paying road tolls across Europe, especially with the new requirements in Denmark," says Svein Skovly, Commercial Director at AutoSync. "Through our partnership with MP Mobility, we can now offer a comprehensive solution that meets our customers' needs in both Denmark and the rest of Europe."
AutoSync's European customers can now deal with a Norwegian provider and pay road tolls and fees in Norwegian kroner to a Norwegian bank, simplifying everyday operations for many businesses.
MP Mobility is an independent supplier working with Europe's leading road toll operators. This allows AutoSync to offer its customers the best solutions available on the market. In addition to a road toll payment solutions, MP Mobility provides services such as VAT refund management, offering the transport industry a complete package for efficient operations.
"Our goal is to simplify the day-to-day operations of the transport industry by providing easy-to-use solutions," says Leif Plener, Managing Director at MP Mobility. "We are therefore pleased to collaborate with AutoSync, the leading toll payment operator in Norway, to deliver our services to Norwegian and Nordic transport operators."
The new road toll system requires the installation of an electronic device that records vehicle movements. The road toll is calculated per kilometer driven and varies depending on road type and vehicle weight. This comes in addition to existing toll and ferry charges.
Through this partnership, AutoSync strengthens its position as a leading provider of payment solutions for the transport sector, ensuring its customers are well-prepared for the new requirements being introduced across Europe.
